Hartford Armory's 1875 & 1890 pistols have one-piece frames, where the handgrip is actually part of the frame forging. More ergonomically correct than either the Colt or the Smith & Wesson of the era, they present "on target" more naturally, yielding superior "pointability". Simply put, sight acquisition is quicker. These Remington type frames are more rigid than other 19th century revolvers so they are inherently more durable and more accurate. That is why, alone among the true 19th century guns, Hartford Armory's 1875 and 1890s can be used with modern hunting loads.

Manufactured entirely in our factory in Connecticut, our 1875 and 1890 revolvers are CNC machined from forgings of chrome moly steel or stainless steel (absolutely NOT from castings) and are dimensionally and functionally exact to the originals. Unlike other CNC machining processes, Hartford Armory is utilizing three dimensional digital machining files (known as solid model machining) rather than two dimensional drawings to program our 5 axis machining centers. A two dimensional drawing cannot accurately express the complexity of shape and design that is the true Remington type revolver. Each revolver is magnafluxed, test fired and regulated. All Hartford Armory products are warranted for life.
